Re: Imperial Wheels & New Tires For Sale

That I don't know, Atom. But I'd bet we'll find out shortly from the knowledge masters on this forum.
If nothing comes from within, I can do a little research and find out. Let's see what happens.

1968 Crown Hardtop Sedan: Correct Battery?

I am replacing the battery in my '68 Crown with a original-appearing battery.
What was the color of the original battery caps for Imperials in 1968?

Restoring Original Steel Wheels . . . Colors?

Soon I will be getting used original wheels for my '68 Imperial. They're coming from a salvage yard, so I anticipate that they will need refinished. It's simple to know what color to paint the wheels, but what color was the primer used on Imperial wheels in 1968? Who cares, right? Well, I do. I'm a ...

Re: Save the Wheelcovers for Shows | Part 2

I learned that the 1981 Imperial wheels will not fit a 1968 Imperial. Not surprising, they are two very different automobiles. The '81 Imperial's bolt configuration is 5 x 4.5", '68's are 5 x 5".

Save the Wheelcovers for Shows | Part 2

Greetings, Imperialists. My idea of installing wire wheels on my Imperial to preserve the original wheel covers and the bias-ply-appearing tires for national events is abandoned. I had no idea what a set of true wire wheels cost. Wow. Now, I'm looking for a set of original steel wheels for the '68 C...

Re: Exhaust System To Tame The 440

Thank you, DonFromTexas. Waldrons had everything I needed; they knew what I was looking for when I said "Imperial". Time was pressing me to finish the exhaust before my family's reunion, so I had a professional install it. Poor workmanship, but it's quiet like she should be. I'm taking the car back ...

Re: 1968 Upper Fuel Line(s). What do they look like?

Thank you, Matt. I ordered the fuel lines and filter a few days ago from Mancini Racing, just a few bucks more than the eBay price; I finally connected with a sales rep there that understood what I needed. It didn't matter that my car wasn't a B-body, of course, but other places said they weren't su...

1968 Upper Fuel Line(s). What do they look like?

Hey, Imperialists: I just received my carburetor, freshly rebuilt, from my carburetor-genius buddy. He had to replace the bowl; a previous owner installed a Ford-style bowl. Its fuel inlet was for a rubber hose; that's what I have on the car now. My carb guy said I'll have to get proper fuel lines t...
