Re: CARLISLE PICTURES
‘61 “Francine” was there all weekend in the Imperial section. She got second place and a celebrity choice award from the Forward Look Mopar Network, still wearing her “shed-find” exterior. There were a few other imps around the grounds, a couple of 63’s and the early 80’s styles that I saw.

Re: '63 Imperial Steering column installation
I did not replace the snap ring with a new one. It should be ok, unless it has been stretched from removing it so many times. You may be able to compress the ring slightly in a vise If it is stretched. Try it on the shaft if you do remove the shaft again from the column. Do not stretch it more than ...

Re: '63 Imperial Steering column installation
Oh, I had to slide the new hose clamp close to the pinched shaft area for the new horn ground wire Idea. I used a #10 ss screw, I believe 1 1/2” long and lock nut.

Re: '63 Imperial Steering column installation
Got it on eBay, 1961 power steering tube insulator $25. Got a good article on steering column photos that I used for advice, http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=68374&posts=35&highlight=steering%20insulator&highlightmode=1 Try that. Check the horn wire where it rivets to the...

Re: '63 Imperial Steering column installation
Did you figure this out yet? Last month I installed one of those new repro steering shaft couplers in my 61. Made a big difference in the steering play! Well, anyway, you will need to compress the column, or in other words draw the shaft upward. There is to be a retaining clip that holds the column ...

Re: Imperial on a UHaul trailer
If you have the ability, go get the car yourself. What an adventure! Have your navigator get photos of you and the former owner loading it on the trailer at the location. More photos at rest stops and gas stations from lookie-loos asking how you found and acquired the car. You may get someone wantin...

Re: Show us your Imperial
Actually, I have a blue fender that came with the car. And I found a clean lower rear fender section for it. But I’m not going to get into restoring the outer body as of now. It is liked being in unrestored condition as it is at shows and cruise ins. I’ll be at Stan Hywett show with it if all goes w...

Re: Show us your Imperial
 Oh, can’t forget the 65 convertible that I had for 32 years and sold it recently when I had sold the 61. I was 18 and out of high school when I got the car locally. Used it as a summertime daily driver for years in the 80s and 90s. Went to lots of shows & Carlisle for years. “ any tips on loa...
