Re: rear window motor
Matt is correct. The 1964-65-66 motors are year-specific and Imperial-specific. Rock Auto and Napa are incorrect when stating that the later motors will work. Ordering one from them will be an exercise in futility. Most competent electrical shops can rebuild these motors. They were made by American-...

Re: Importing Parts from the USA
I have regularly used the USPS to ship parts to Canada. I pack the part, go to the post office, complete the customs certificate (truthfully) and brace for the damage. Just recently, I sent a power seat transmission to BC and priority shipping with $200 insurance coverage cost $44. On the other hand...

Re: Steering Column Parts
I have a directional signal lever (chrome with an ivory plastic insert) which threads into the steering column. I may also have the U-shaped steering column retainer. Send me an e-mail: faresmcmthelix@msn.com.

Re: 1974 "Chrysler" Imperial
Interesting thing I noticed about the 1974 LeBaron I bought from the Gesswein auction - the title (from 2014 when Gesswein purchased it) says the make is Chrysler and the model is Imperial. I know that from 1955-75 Imperial was its own marque, and read on The Wikipedia that Chrysler had even sent o...

Re: Rear side panels 64 crown coupe
OOPS! I just realized that your request was for the REAR and not the front. 1. Remove the rear seat cushion. Pushing it backwards and lifting at the front will free it from the retaining hooks at the front edge. 2. Remove the rear seat backrest. There are two retainers with a hex-nut and a large was...

Re: Rear side panels 64 crown coupe
Here are some step-by-step instructions: 1. Remove the chrome door-lock knob. 2. Lower the door glass, and close the vent window. 3. Remove two Phillips-head screws from the underside of the chrome door pull. 4. Open the storage pocket, and pry the two galvanized hole plugs from the outboard wall of...

Hi Norm,
I might have one of these, but to be certain that it isn't from a '64, can you send me a photo? My e-mail address, which you already have, is: faresmcmthelix@msn.com.

Re: puzzled over stained headliners
Cadillac had a similar problem in the 1967-1970 models. It was because of a chemical reaction between the headlining and the inner roof insulation (and the glue used to retain it). When a Cadillac so affected (or should I say, afflicted) presented this problem during warranty, the fix was to replace...
