Re: 1974 "Chrysler" Imperial

Yes, mileage on the historical titles. I suppose since the first 3 owners covered 40 years, it's possible one (or more!) put a little over 100,000 miles to make it still appear sequential 😳

Will check the brake pedal when I get it 😊

Re: 1974 "Chrysler" Imperial

One trivia bit that the DMV person told me - there were 4 previous owners - 2 in Nebraska, 1 in Iowa, then Gesswein in South Dakota (since 2014, which I know from the title they gave me).

Also confirmed that it only has 38,359 miles (not rolled over)

Re: 1974 "Chrysler" Imperial

UPDATE: Got the title switched today, and there was a place on the application to make corrections so I noted it should be Imperial LeBaron instead of Chrysler Imperial.

Checked the new title and it says Make: CHRY Model: IMP

Ah well...

Re: Digital Instrument Cluster

Are you replacing a digital one or switching from analog?

As I've discovered with my 89 New Yorker, going from analog to digital is a crazy complex process that I still haven't completed

Re: '93 Imperial 48k miles for sale

Very sorry for your loss. Looks like it's in great shape! Unfortunately I just checked Kelly Blue Book (kbb.com) and it's showing a private party value of only about $1,400. That's just a rough estimate of course - once cars reach "classic" stage (over 25 years) it's much more based on the individua...

Re: 1974 "Chrysler" Imperial

As an aside, the 1971 paisley Mod Top saga is pretty hilarious, if embarrassing for the company

Re: 1974 "Chrysler" Imperial

Just going through the brochures linked here, and it's notable that 1970 only says Imperial and 1971 very specifically says Chrysler Imperial, but 1972 kind of fudges things with a large vertical IMPERIAL and a small horizontal CHRYSLER on the main page, but no mention of Chrysler in the text (that ...

Re: 1974 "Chrysler" Imperial

Haha the saga continues!

I have noticed the "Imperial by Chrysler" on the 71's but I think that was only the 71's. My 74 has no outward designation as a Chrysler.

But your explanation makes sense for the title designating it as a Chrysler Imperial.

Definitely a great feeling!

And of course pics of the finished job are requested
