Just bought my fourth Imperial, this time a 56 sedan. Coming from California to me for re chrome and paint. It is actually a well preserved model, believed to be a one owner car. Photos follow:Image

In 1956 this was the longest American Production car ever built! Even longer than my 59s that seem long too.

Love the look of the 55/56 models. As you say though, they are long and I don't think it will fit in my garage.

Car looks pretty solid though.

Good luck with it. That overhang off the trailer won't be fun.

Saw your other post in the classifieds section. Hadn't realized transporting cars was so expensive these days. How did it work out for you? Did you finally track someone down that could transport it for a reasonable price?

Strange how it works sometimes. I had a friend nearby that recycles old cars, I had bought some 59 parts from him earlier. I thought he might be interested in the car, and he done me one better! He had a couple of cars to go pickup in New Mexico near El Paso and was going down empty. He made me an offer I could not refuse, and for a steak dinner and other valuable items, he is bringing it to me in South Texas!

That's a pretty good deal! Timing worked out great to save this one.

It was just one of those rare opportunities to save a grand old lady, and nobody else seemed interested. They are far from rare or valuable, but I feel that it should be saved.
