Gas Tanks

Post by slantflat »

Hi everyone.

I may be in need of a gas tank for my 62 LeBaron. A quick search shows ebay has them for over 300 bucks. Several places say they have them, but they turn out to be for a New Yorker or some other thing.

Question. Where can I find an original and correct Imperial gas tank? And how much should I expect to pay? A repro would be okay if it's correct. Another car's tank would be less okay but if it would fit somehow and work then maybe.

Thank everyone.

Hey Mike

I had to replace the tank on my 57 and I went with Vans Auto. I was able to call the guy and talk with him and felt confident it was going to be a perfect match. Turned out to be a perfect fit.

Here's a link to the tank he sells for your model year: https://vansauto.com/product/60-63-imperial-gas-tank/

For sure Vans. HOWEVER look both at his store AND Ebay! Price of tank is same, but shipping in my case was over $60 lower on ebay, they use a flat shipping figure there, actual cost of shipping is used on their site sales..
