Carpeting in 1968 Crown 4-door hardtop
What type of carpeting was original equipment in a 1968 Crown 4-door hardtop? Loop or Cut Pile?
Re: Carpeting in 1968 Crown 4-door hardtop
The only reference I find in the ‘68 Imp data and color/trim books That mention carpet is they call what’s in the trunk “soft pile”.
The original rug in the cabin of my ‘67 Coupe appears to be cut pile compared to the loop that’s in the trunk.
I went with loop in my other ‘67 Coupe and probably should have gone with cut pile.
The top pic shows the original along he bottom of the rear seat next to the new.
The second pic shows a close up of the original rug in my Mobile Director.
The 3rd pic shows a close of the original carpet on the front of the rear seat.
Hope this helps.

Thank you very much! Yes this helps a great deal. My Crown has loop carpeting but I suspected it may be replacement by a previous owner. It didn't seem luxurious enough for an Imperial.
