Interior door handle removal

Post by Jterry »

I need to repair the power window in the rear door of my 64 imperial. I can get the door panel loose but I can't figure out how the door handle is attached to get the panel off. I do have a shop manual but it doesn't have that bit of information in it. Thanks in advance.

There is a big Philips head screw holding the handle on . Look down through the oval opening on the door handle area to see it. Imperially , Gary...

You'll need a long-shaft screwdriver to get to that screw.

You will find the Phillips-head screw in the oval opening, as stated above, about two inches behind the chrome portion of the handle. Loosen the screw until you can wiggle the handle fore and aft, and side to side. If you loosen too much, the clamp may fall into the enclosed portion of the armrest.
