Valence Window Not Working

Post by ImperialAtom »

The power valence windows on my 66 were working great when I got it (70 F), then stopped completely when it was a cooler day (45 F), then when it warmed up a bit (60 F) it started working again on one side.

Any idea what might be causing that?

By now, the grease inside the gear drive has turned to the consistency of peanut butter. Each vent window motor assembly should be removed, and the drive gear mechanism cleaned and re-greased. White lithium grease works well for this. At the same time, if the driven gear shows any signs of stripped teeth, and it's not too far gone, true up the beveled slots with a file and clean well before re-assembly.

Thanks, that makes sense on why temperature is affecting it.
