Thanks! They checked the tires and said they were ok.
Per Jim Gesswein, the cars were taken out for short drives on a regular basis, and maintenance like oil changes was done regularly too.
So hopefully drama free like you said. I did arrange to pick up a fire extinguisher at the local NAPA

Don't forget to insure it before the trip too! Just in case.

Re: THE JIM GESSWEIN COLLECTION
Was wondering if anyone else who got a car at the auction was driving it home like I am, and {lengthy tangent that does get back to the point eventually} thought of the weird early 90's band Breakfast With Amy, who garnered a very small cult following with their take on rock music, and stage antics that (per The Wikipedia) usually resulted in them never being invited to play that venue again
Anyway, one of the compilation albums released after their demise put various concert bits and other random stuff amongst the songs, and one track was a radio interview with founder and lead singer Dave Koval:
Interviewer: I once heard you comment that you were interested in making a Breakfast With Amy album with no members of the band on it, and from anyone else I would taken that strictly as a joke, but given the avant garde nature of the band, I've often wondered since if I wouldn't find just such an album on the store shelves.
DK: Yeah, that'd be pretty cool. I think it'd be kinda interesting to hire like a Mariachi band to come in and play it, or find some really horrible garage band to play our songs, and not even actually have to play anything on the record. Break tradition.
Interviewer: Have you ever known of that being done in the past, or is that strictly a unique idea?
DK: You'd think most people would have more sense than that.

Re: THE JIM GESSWEIN COLLECTION
Well, my scenario above played out for real. Got the car and drove a short distance, and not that there was anything particularly wrong but I just didn't get a good feeling about making the 20 hour trip.
So I drove back to Gesswein and will have it shipped like originally planned.
The other issue has been getting back home. Flights weren't a problem, surprisingly enough, but Milbank is a literal middle of nowhere town with no Lyft or Uber locally AT ALL and even the nearest taxi is over an hour away. So it's been a fun morning!

Here's some pics anyway.
Bitter though that I forgot to take a pic when I stopped for gas.

Thanks guys! One other pic I forgot to take was from the driver seat looking out at the mile long hood and the eagle ornament. Was an awesome look while driving the car
