Body Mounts 1964

Post by Ottawa Mike »

I just bought body mounts from Metro for my 1964 Crown. I am not sure what size (thickness) of mounts go in the front under the rad and can someone confirm that there are two spots where there are no mounts. Last bolts in the trunk and under the dash?

Here’s what my originals look like under the radiator core support on my ‘64 Impvertible.
I’ll check the others.

Here’s mine back to front. It doesn’t appear that there’s any rubber bushings between the frame and floor at the very back or below the A pillar.

Thank you, this really helps. This confirms some of what I was thinking. Ups my confidence. In the front I suspect that if I put in the same type of mounts that you have the front will be too low. When i got my car the doors would not open because the front was bolted down too low.

I am not sure your mounts are original based on the hardware. I have two generations of old mounts. A real puzzle.

If you ever want to change your mounts I may be able to help. I bought new mounts and expect to have them installed by the end of March.

If you wouldn’t mind posting a picture of the ones you believe are the original style I’d appreciate it.
And thanks!

First pic is what i think are the original hardware for 1964 body mounts. There are six different parts. This in not including the rubber.

The second pic is a rubber mount which i am not sure where it goes. Front?

I have no idea. I’ve still really only just begun to work on this car and I have no previous experience with the generations preceding the ‘67s. I will say that I would be shocked if my convertible has ever been apart far enough to change these body mount bushings but 56 years is a long time so one never knows.
