I thought I might have a twin to that, but I think this one is going to someone who has never restored one before!

Yeah, would be nice to get those two back together. :) Don, you planning to restore that 55?

Nah, I would love to, but the seller is playing games. He had three shill bidders run it up - and got stuck with it, immediately relisted looking for a sucker. He MIGHT give up on that scam and decide to just dump it for real value, in case he does, I might get it..

That car is going to need a LOT of work. I would love to see someone restore, but I don't see the value in it. Will take much more than the car is worth when you consider chrome all around, new interior, new paint, like an engine rebuild, and I wouldn't assume that transmission is good either. And there's likely some big rust issues as well.

If you could get a deal on it... maybe, but even if you were given the car for free, if you had to pay for all that, it would cost more than the car is worth.

You are quite right, but add transportation from there to here, another $1000 to $1500. I have a great chrome connection and had already found and priced some sheet metal and the body work. Down around the $1000 level I would be a buyer. Cheap illegal labor is sure great for restoration of old cars!
