Re: Show us your Imperial
I bet she's gonna look great once you get it finished! I've been thinking of getting the seats re-done on mine, mind if I ask what they quoted you for the seat upholstery?

I definitely got sticker shock. The material from SMS was just under a thousand dollars during their 19% off sale. I really fell on the floor when the fellow wanted over $3000 for sewing it together! The foam was totally turned into powder and all has to be replaced. Not cheap, but I feel happy that I have the original material and can make it look exactly like it was when new.

This is my '61 Crown Convertible. Pretty much all original (top was replaced in '82 and carpet was done about then) and very straight. Drives great. I'm 4th owner and have all the original purchase documents from her "birth" on 10/7/60 at Roy Burnett Motors in Portland Oregon. Time to put the 3rd top on her and looking for a convertible top boot if anyone has a source.

Looks like a sibling to mine! I have a a '61 Alaskan White Crown Convertible with red interior. All original with less than 61k miles. I have some pics further down in this thread.NO XQS wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 2:02 pm Here is my 1961 Imperial Crown convertible, named NO XQS. It was fully restored to factory standards in 2006 and has completed four cross-country Great Race rallies since then, plus many long trips to concours and shows - about 20,000 miles so far, so total mileage since new is now about 86,000.

My 66 just came back from the paint shop today; new paint, new chrome and lots of sparkle. Don't know why the pictures are sideways.

Thanks. It is a real 45,000 mile car in which everything works-including the AC and the Auto Pilot. I love driving it.
