It is original and has a true 45,000 miles but due to a nasty divorce and poor eyesight on the part of the prior owner, it has lots of body damage. So, it is currently in the paint shop getting re-sprayed in its original color. I took the opportunity to re-chrome the front and rear bumpers, too. Hoping it will look very sharp when finished.

Very nice! I love my 66 so far - have only had it since Oct, so very excited to drive it this spring. Mine is the same color combination as yours. Beautiful cars!

This is my 4th 1966 Imperial convertible, and the second one in this color combo. The first one I had like this was in the movie "A Bronx Tale"-the bar fight scene.

What made you sell the previous three?

Actually, the previous near-couple dozen. I've had every one (or more) Imperial from 1959 to 1968-plus lots and lots of Caddies, Olds', Buicks', Chevies, Chryslers, etc.

My interest in owning Imperials is two-fold: When I was a kid my father drove Imperials, so, like a duckling, they were imprinted on me. Also, when I was a kid I bought and sold cars for fun, and to make some money. I had no patience back then so changing plugs, shocks or belts was all I could tolerate. Now that I'm older I have the patience and the experience to fix things; each "new" car brings its own faults to trace, and fix. Recently, I purchased a 64 Caddy in which neither the power seat nor the Climate Control worked. The seat was an easy fix (cleaned and re-lubed the dirty seat transmission), the Climate Control a bit more difficult. I purchased a Troubleshooting book on the system, studied it for 6 weeks and then diagnosed and fixed the one in my car. I get enormous satisfaction out of correctly diagnosing and fixing these oldies.

So, it will be interesting to see what becomes of this current Imperial: Everything operates correctly and when it emerges from the paint shop it will need nothing. Maybe I can just enjoy it-we'll see.

Thanks, I live near Wetzlar, where the Leica Cameras are built. In the background is the new Haedquarter of Leica.

Here is my 61 Imperial I've had just over a year now. Not a lot to see now, but someday she will shine again.

1968 Imperial Crown Convertible.

I just bought this ‘67 yesterday. It has some sort of crazy folding table on a chrome pole mounted to the floor.

That would be the Director's Coupe. I believe the passenger side front seat spins around to face that table, also.
