Greetings!
I have a 67 Imperial, in which I have done the Supra rotor conversion. I rebuilt the driver side caliper. I purchased a Cardone caliper for the passenger side, as the original caliper was badly pitted inside.
I have gone thru three remanufactured passenger side calipers so far. All three have had at least one piston seal fail towards the end of bleeding, and attempting to get some pressure on the brake pedal. Has anyone else had these issues? I have had one person on the facebook imperial group say he had to go thru three calipers before he got a good one.
Thanks!
Dennis
Budd Caliper Issues
Re: Budd Caliper Issues
I am not surprised, Cardone Reman parts are junk in my opinion.
Re: Budd Caliper Issues
I had mine sleeved with stainless steel and haven’t looked back.

I've gone through a bunch of Cardone rebuilt. I have since gone with AAJ Brakes as his conversion is all GM "Big" brake kit. But, there are decent shops who will sleeve your calipers. I happened to use Power Brake Exchange on my last '67 for both the booster and calipers. He just did the booster on my current car. I don't know where you are, but he's in Pgh.PA
