1955 Imperial VIN Location

In order to complete the title transfer of my '55 Imperial, I have to have the VIN verified by the Auto Club. They need to see two VIN locations. I found the number on the driver's door post (that was easy). Can anyone help me find a second VIN location? The plate on the firewall above the steering column does not have the VIN. Is there one stamped on the frame? Thanks!
Paul

Is it up near the windshield or is that too old for that?

Didn't see anything up by the windshield. Perhaps it's somewhere on the frame?

I also seem to have posted this in the wrong part of the forum. Sorry about that.

There should be a data plate under the hood that will have several numbers and letters on it. If you decode that, you can know for sure if it's a southampton model.

Short of doing that, you can also tell just by looking at it. In 56, there was a Southampton model for 2 door and 4 door. The 2 door models are all Southampton, so if you only see 2 doors, it's a southampton. If you see 4 doors, look at the B piller (the pillar between the windows of the front and back doors). If that pillar exists then it's a sedan, but if you roll down all 4 windows and there's no B pillar between the front and back windows, then that is a Southampton. When you roll the windows down on a southampton 4 door, you can swing your arms from the front to the back, it's wide open!

The only thing you can tell from the VIN is that it's a Chrysler product (the C in the VIN) and it's a 1956 because of the 2 digit year after the C. No other data is available based on the VIN, you'll have to find the data plate on the car to know more.
